1 Week Hybrid Faculty Development Program on Application of Artificial Intelligence for effective Teaching Pedagogy( 11.12.2023 – 16.12.2023)

FDP on Artificial Intelligence for Teaching Pedagogy is inaugurated by Dr K Maran on 11. 12.2023 at MBA auditorium by Dr K Maran. The same program is hosted in G-meet for online participants. The program was started with a Prayer followed by lighting the lamp. Dr R Jeyalakshmi gave her Welcome speech and Dr K Maran gave his inaugural speech and also introduced the resource person for Day 1 Dr S.Dineshkumar to the audience.  Dr S.Dineshkumar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management Studies, Sri Sairam Engineering College. He enlightened the audience under the topic Introduction to Artificial Intelligence. He shared much information about AI and its origin. He also gave more insights about AI application with many industry examples. The session was well received by the audience and the feedback received from the audience proved the same.

Day 2 of the program was hosted by Dr Jeyalakshmi, Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies, Sri Sairam Engineering College. She addressed the audience on the topic AI tools for content creation for teachers. She introduced many AI tools for learning and tutoring practices. The audience found the tools to be very effective and gave a nice feedback for her session.

Day 3 of the FDP was hosted by Dr.Karuppasamy Ramanathan, Dean School of Management, Hindustan Institute of Science and technology, Coimbatore. He gave more insight into various AI learning platforms under the topic “ Adoptive Learning Platforms: Transforming the Education system”.

Day 4 of the Session was hosted by Dr P.Venkatesh, Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies, Sri Sairam Engineering College. He addressed the audience on the topic, “Intelligent Tutoring Systems”.  He introduced the effective use of AI tools in grading and the audience found it more useful.

Day 5 of the session was conducted by Dr.Vijanth S.Asirvadham, Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Malaysia. He addressed on the topic “ Future of AI in Education” The second session was hosted by Dr Sureshkumar, Associate Professor, Department of Information Technology, Sri Sairam Engineering College. He addressed the audience on the topic, “Educational Data Mining”.

Day 6 was hosted by Dr Maran Marimuthu, Universiti Teknologi Petronas and he gave speech on the topic, Learning Management System. Day 7 was hosted by Dr T Sheela, Dean, Networking of Sri Sairam Engineering college. She shared many information about recent trends in Artificial Intelligence. She also introduced the concepts deep learning and machine learning and its connection with AI. The second half of the session was hosted by Dr.Sharmini Gopinathan, Associate Professor, Taylors University, Malaysia. She addressed the audience on the topic, “ AI tools for content creation for Teachers”

Overall the participants learnt about many AI tools and its application and felt that they can make use of these tools to increase their efficiency and effectiveness.
